The second piece that I helped with as the Production Sound Mixer was quite a bit different, but the work was just as rewarding as we were able to tell an equally important story about equality.
Back in September, Starbucks commissioned filmmakers from 28 different countries around the world to tell a story about a group of people that use Starbucks as their meeting place. All of the stories were filmed on the same day, so it gives you a bit of a snapshot of what could be going on anywhere in the world at any given moment in time. Pretty great concept, and it's great seeing them all put together at the end.
I worked on the segment "Open Roads", which follows a LGBT Scooter group from their meeting place at a Starbucks on Colfax. It's amazing to see all of the places they go from there! Unfortunately I can't embed it on the site because it's interactive, but feel free to watch it on YouTube, either as it's own individual story in "Gallery Mode", or as a piece of the larger whole in "Film Mode".
Besides that, I've also wrapped production on a reality show for the Weather Channel, an internal video for BMW, a commercial for a local artist and a sexual abuse series which is going to be shown in High Schools across the country. I can't give much more info than that right now, but I'll be sure to put up the finished products when they're ready for the world to see.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!
